OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

To date, ALL tests by the Town, many of which were conducted just last year, have registered the presence of banned synthetic pesticides.

Some of the products detected have been banned in Quebec for residential lawn care for more than 15 years.

When the Town detects a prohibited pesticide on a homeowner’s lawn, the latter will be informed by registered mail, in accordance with a procedure in place since last year.

The tests are carried out in a ministry lab and the Town refers any violations in the Pesticides Management Code to the relevant authorities. Results can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months depending on how busy the lab is.
